A Heavy-Hearted Loss at the Gem

It is with profound sadness and heartbreak that we share the sudden passing of our Lead Social Worker, Nabasumba Joan Rwakatale.

As a Gem family, we grieve the loss of a treasured friend, colleague, and faithful servant. Joan was an exceptional social worker whose compassion, wisdom, and unwavering dedication transformed the lives of countless children and families. For nearly 12 years, she faithfully served our precious Gems with extraordinary love, advocating tirelessly for children with special needs and reminding each one of their God-given value. Her impact leaves a legacy that will continue for generations.

We ask that you please pray for Joan's husband and their four daughters as they navigate this unimaginable loss. Please also pray for Gem leadership and our entire Gem team as we grieve the loss of a dear friend and teammate. We pray that the Lord would surround each of us with His comfort and peace, and give us the strength to continue the work Joan loved so dearly.
